LIVERMORE, CA — A two-alarm fire in Livermore caused major damage and minor firefighter injuries, according to the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department.
The fire broke out Monday at 1:55 p.m. at The Arbors apartment complex on the 3500 block of Pacific Avenue in Livermore, near East Avenue Middle School.
Two apartment units sustained major damage, and others are still being assessed, LPFD said. Two firefighters suffered minor injuries. One was treated at the scene, and the other was transported to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

The fire was extinguished in about 30 minutes, according to LPFD. Two adults and two children were displaced from one unit, and one adult was displaced from another unit.
One firefighter was able to rescue a kitten in a back bedroom and reunite it with its owner, according to LPFD.

Pacific Avenue was closed from Dolores Avenue to East Avenue for about two hours Monday.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, LPFD said.
