LIVERMORE, CA — A postal worker was the victim of an armed robbery on Thursday, Sept. 12 at around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Oregon Way and Jensen Street, according to the Livermore Police Department. The case remains under investigation, so LPD is not releasing any further information, according to spokesperson Azenith Smith.

Patch reached out to the United States Postal Inspection Service for further information.

The Tri-Valley has seen a few reported cases of postal worker robberies in the past few months. On Aug. 15, a USPS worker was held up by a suspect demanding his property in Blackhawk, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect fled on foot, and the postal carrier was not injured.

On May 7, two masked suspects robbed a postal carrier at gunpoint in Dublin and demanded her mailbox key and cell phone, according to Dublin Police Services.
