A boy from Syria who had told rescue workers after surviving the earthquake in February that he wanted to meet Cristiano Ronaldo. On March 4, he met his idol after an invitation to watch Al Nassr play, as per Reuters.

Nabil Saeed put his request across to rescue workers in Syria in a video shared on the internet in the previous month. This was after the 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Turkey and Syria on February 6.

Over 50,000 people are dead. In Syria, more than 5900 have been killed, according to authorities. 

Saeed could not contain his smile as he met his idol. They shared a high-five and a big hug.

“When I saw Ronaldo, I thought it was a dream. I didn’t believe myself. When this dream would end, I didn’t know. I pray to God that it will not be a dream,” Saeed said while speaking to Reuters. 

 “I wish everyone could see Ronaldo. He is a very nice person,” Saeed added.
