LOS ANGELES, CA — Cannabis delivery drivers in Los Angeles are preparing to strike in an “unprecedented action” against online cannabis marketplace Eaze/Stachs before 4/20.

On Wednesday, April 10, the LA drivers will join over 500 unionized workers statewide who are gearing up for the strike with a sign-making session. Members voted to authorize the strike ahead of the busiest day in the cannabis industry.

“The coordinated strike-ready actions follow months of unsuccessful bargaining,” union officials said in a statement. “Last week, California cannabis delivery drivers and workers at Eaze/Stachs rejected the company’s ‘last, best, and final’ contract offer that did not meet the worker’s key objectives.”

“It is unacceptable that the company seems to care more about its bottom line than the safety of its employees, and we are demanding change,” said Lincoln delivery driver Harmony Roberts.

The picket preparation event will include cannabis workers and their supporters making signs, artistic marijuana-leaf banners and displays of cannabis culture. The event will be held at the UFCW Local 770 headquarters at 630 Shatto Pl. at 3:30 p.m.
