BERKELEY, NJ — The new year brings with it plenty of change. In Berkeley, 2025 will mark the 150th anniversary of the township.

Berkeley Township was officially incorporated on March 31, 1875. It was taken from portions of Dover Township, now Toms River.

“The township will be celebrating the 150 years all year long,” Mayor John Bacchione said at a recent Township Council meeting.
