DEER PARK, NY — Online furniture giant Wayfair has decided to close its brick-and-mortar store at Tanger Outlets Deer Park, a company representative told Patch.

The closure comes a little over a year after it opened in November 2023 as the first Wayfair outlet on Long Island and the third nationwide, selling returns and discounted items in good condition.

The store is slated to close on Jan. 15, 2025, after “careful consideration,” Wayfair’s Karoline Etter told Patch.

“We are working closely with affected employees to assist with job placement at other Wayfair locations and providing resources to local employment agencies,” Etter said.

Etter said shoppers can expect a closing sale from Dec. 26 to Jan. 15.
