JOLIET — Two days after 18-year-old Joliet resident Marquis Lee stole someone’s Dodge Durango, he was captured hiding in the woods after trying to avoid the Joliet police who were after him, arrest reports show.

Now, Lee is being held in Yorkville’s Kendall County Jail, where he’s facing charges of possession of a stolen motor vehicle plus obstructing a peace officer.

Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said at 3:23 a.m. last Thursday, Joliet police responded to the 500 block of Kungs Way for a stolen vehicle. Someone stole a Dodge Durango after entering the vehicle by force, police said. Officers learned that the keys were not in the vehicle, and broken glass was discovered at the scene.
