STRATFORD, CT — After last owning a barbershop around eight years ago, veteran barber Abraham A. Perez decided it was time for a new venture.
Perez celebrated the opening of Stallion Barbershop at 7365 Main Street, Unit 5, in Stratford with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony last week with town officials.
Perez, who has more than 16 years of experience cutting hair, previously owned a barbershop in Waterbury from 2012 to 2015 and most recently worked at the Fade Factory in Stratford.

After five years of working at the Fade Factory, and once it had grown to five barbers, Perez decided it was time to move on and open his own barbershop again.
Perez’s vision was to make it a special and classy place where customers could feel welcomed and get the best haircut and service possible.

The space on Main Street was fully renovated and redesigned to become Stallion Barbershop. Perez picked everything in the shop, from the flooring to the lighting fixtures and furniture.
Perez always has classical music playing in the background to promote a “nice and relaxing environment.”

“I wanted to design an elegant and inviting place for my customers that is affordable,” Perez said. “From the name ‘Stallion’ – chosen because it denotes strength, beauty and vigor – to every detail in the barbershop, everything was carefully thought out.”
Perez is known for his attention to detail and specializes in servicing clients of all ethnic backgrounds – including children.
“It is my goal to give every customer that walks through my doors a great experience and the best haircut I can give them,” Perez said.
Perez decided to open the barbershop in the Oronoque Shopping Plaza based on its location across from Sikorsky Aircraft, and the other businesses in the plaza that bring the “perfect mix of clients needed to take the business to the next level.”
Perez is looking to continue to grow by adding new barbers/stylists to the barbershop, and possibly even franchising it one day.
