CONCORD, NH — A man from Laconia was arrested on a reckless operation charge Wednesday, accused of driving more than 100 mph in a 55-mph zone, according to the New Hampshire State Police.

Around 7 a.m., a trooper patrolling Route 3 and Route 11 Bypass in Gilford spotted a driver in an SUV traveling at a high rate of speed, Amber Lagace, a public information officer for state police, said.

“The initial speed of the silver SUV was clocked at 92 mph,” she said. “The operator increased the speed to 104 mph, in a posted 55 mph zone.”

The driver, Lucas Carter, 50, of Laconia was pulled over and arrested. He was processed and released on bail. Carter is due in Laconia District Court on July 13.

Traffic Enforcement Leads To 102 Violations

A state police traffic enforcement initiative on Monday on Interstate 93 in Salem.

The department’s enforcement unit has been trying to reduce speed and other hazardous motor vehicle violations along with state police aircraft.

“During the operation,” Lagace said, “troopers stopped a total of 102 violations, including three vehicles traveling over 100 mph, 50 vehicles traveling over 90 mph, and several other motor vehicle violations to include following too closely, and the ‘hands-free’ and move over laws.”

Lagace said there had been increased traffic violations and crashes on Granite State highways.

Giles, 22, of Milton was arrested at 8:14 p.m. on May 19 on aggravated driving under the influence-30 mph, DUI-second offense, DUI, reckless operation, and motor vehicle not equipped with interlock device charges as well as following too closely and unregistered vehicle violations in Rochester.

Edvaldo Rodrigues De Almeida, 41, of Natick, Massachusetts, was arrested at 6:18 a.m. on May 19 on an operating without and valid license charge in Greenland.

Matthew Vincent Famulari, 40, of Rye was arrested at 2:13 a.m. on May 16 on a resting arrest or detention charge in Hampton Falls.

Dustin Larabee, 38, of Manchester was arrested at 1:11 a.m. on May 21 on a bench warrant in Bedford.

A 17-year-old from Milford was arrested at 9:07 p.m. on May 19 in negligent driving, reckless operation, and speeding-26+ mph over the limit of 55 mph or less charges in Nashua.

Taleana Della Fluker, 44, of Manchester was arrested at 9:57 p.m. on May 18 on driving after revocation or suspension and suspension of vehicle registration charges as well driving without giving proof and yellow-solid line violations in Londonderry.

Remi Barrera, 35, of Nashua was arrested on a warrant at 2:19 p.m. on May 17.

Sharad Gurung, 26, of Hooksett was arrested at 11:07 p.m. on May 16 on driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent, suspension of vehicle registration, and speeding-6 to 10 mph over the 65 limit charges in Manchester.

Kevin D. Leblanc, 44, of Goffstown was arrested at 5:10 p.m. on May 16 on a driving after revocation or suspension charge and unregistered vehicle and uninspected vehicle violations in Londonderry.

Shawn Robert Christy, 50, of Boston, MA, was arrested on a bench warrant at 11:16 p.m. on May 15 in Londonderry.

Devyn Antonio Alston, 26, of Winthrop, MA, was arrested at 10:56 p.m. on May 15 on driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent and speeding-16 to 20 mph over 65 limit charges as well as misuse of plates and unregistered vehicle violations in Londonderry. He was arrested again at 3:25 p.m. on May 20 on domestic violence-false imprisonment, domestic violence-simple assault, domestic violence-reckless conduct, criminal mischief, and driving after revocation or suspension-subsequent charges in Manchester.

James E. Wilson, 37, of Lynn, MA, was arrested at 3:09 p.m. on May 15 on driving after revocation or suspension and speeding-11 to 15 mph over 65 limit charges in Manchester.

Brian Joseph Santiago, 21, of Manchester was arrested at 4:31 a.m. on May 15 on theft by unauthorized taking-$1,501+ and receiving stolen property-$1,501+ charges, both felonies, as well as unauthorized use, taking without owner’s consent, conduct after an accident, and operating without a valid license charges as well as a possession of license required violation in Manchester.
