FARMINGDALE, NY — Mind Body Crystals recently opened in Farmingdale with the goal of bringing peace and healing to customers.
It marks the first brick and mortar venture for owner Anastasia Sofranin, who has been running an online shop with the same name for the past two years.
“I’m so excited,” Sofranin told Patch. “I’m here every single day, all day. It’s like a dream come true.”

She sells crystals, candles, cups, colognes, perfumes and other accessories. The candles come in scents and designs like strawberry, marshmallow, Captain Crunch, cookies and cream, ice cream, and more.
“All of my products help with spiritual being,” Sofranin said. “But it’s kind of like giving people peace of mind. People have depression, anxiety, all that stuff. It helps them have a calmer life. I remember this one little kid came in [Thursday] and his mom that said he has really bad anxiety, and he was looking for crystals and sprays for calming.”

Sofranin hopes customers view Mind Body Crystals as a modern store with fun items, as opposed to a regular store. She ordered a popcorn machine to hand out snacks to shoppers, and she gives out bracelets and goodies with every order.
Mind Body Crystals is at 184 Merritts Road, Farmingdale — in the same shopping center as Rosemarie’s Pizzeria and Restaurant, Robert’s Barber Shop, Dunkin’ Donuts and East Eats.
Sofranin lives in Farmingdale, and she and her family were always in the area.
“I saw the ‘for sale’ sign, and I knew this was the right spot,” she said.
Her online shop also offers shirts.
