NORTHRIDGE, CA — Firefighters made quick work of a restaurant fire in Granada Hills Wednesday.

The fire broke out in a commercial shopping center at 11144 North Balboa Boulevard just before 10 a.m., according to Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange.
Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke billowing from the building and located the fire inside a restaurant, he said.

The building is home to a chase bank, a jewelry shop, a veterinary clinic, a pastry shop, and Italian deli and butcher shop and grill.
“It took the first 28 firefighters 19 minutes to extinguish the flames,” said Prange.

According to Prange, there were no injuries and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
