The Moffi saga has lasted almost the entire window. Initially, Nice were rivalled by Premier League clubs West Ham United and Southampton reportedly interested. However, interest from across the Channel waned as reports revealed that the Nigerian striker’s preference was to remain in Ligue 1.
More specifically, Moffi wants to join Nice and has already turned down a move to rivals Olympique de Marseille, despite the clubs agreeing on a deal that included Bamba Dieng joining Les Merlus. The Senegalese forward’s move to the Breton club still hangs in the balance.
Whilst Moffi has agreed to join Nice, no agreement between the clubs has been reached, and a fifth bid of €23m has now been rejected. The Riviera club are now readying a sixth offer, and are confident that it will be closer to the demands of Loïc Fery, who is still holding out for €30m. Moffi is hoping that the deal can be concluded before the end of the week.
