CONNACHT RUGBY HAVE today appointed Jimmy Duffy as their new forwards coach.
Duffy replaces the long-standing Dan McFarland who was recruited by Guinness Pro12 champions Glasgow Warriors for next season.
The new forwards coach has been employed by the western province since 2009, acting first as coach of the under 18-19 sides and coach development officer.
In 2011, Duffy was installed as elite player development officer and has also operated as coach of the under and as assistant coach for Connacht Eagles and Ireland under 18 clubs.
Duffy earned 20 caps for Connacht and also represented Ireland under 21s, combined provinces, Barbarians and Ireland A.
“He will bring both strong technical coaching skills and authentic leadership qualities that will have a real impact as we continue to build and progress as a young squad. I’m delighted that he will be joining the Pro team and he will be an excellent addition to our coaching group.”
