THERE’S A RIGHT way, a wrong way and then there’s the Lima Sopoaga way.

The Highlanders out-half is up against the Hurricanes this morning in a rematch of last year’s Super Rugby final. The ‘Canes got off to a flying start, so Sopoaga was clearly feeling under a little pressure to conjure something out of nothing.

But nobody could have expected he’d attempt something as downright ridiculous as this.

Brad Shields and Beauden Barrett both looked a little perplexed by the odd exit path the ball was sent on.

It worked, so I guess sometimes you really have to look backwards to go forward.

Sopoaga scored a try to help the Highlanders come back from 14 down and the sides were level at 17 – 17 and then 20 – 20 in the final minutes until Ardie Savea rumbled over for his second of try of the game.
